 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and North Odisha Coasts, India during next 48 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwest wards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area during next (12)hrs and concentrate into a Depression during subsequent (24)hrs.

General caution

Due to the low pressure area, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State with likelihood of regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy falls from tonight to (15.8.2022). Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

People should be awared the heavy rainfall with strong wind, the natural disasters such as flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
