Monsoon Water Forecast

General Long Range Water Level Forecast (from May to October)

         During the months of May and June (Early Monsoon Period), the water levels along the Ayeyarwady, Chindwin, Myitthar, Thanlwin, Thaungyin, Sittoung, Dokhtawaddy, Shwegyin, Bago, Ngawun, Toe, Kalaten, Lay Myo and Bilin Rivers may rise above the present water levels but it may not reach their respective town danger levels.

          During the months of July and August (Mid Monsoon Period), the water levels may exceed their respective town danger levels are one time each at Hkamti, Homalin, Phaungpyin, Mawlaik, Kalewa, Minkin, Kani and Monywa of Chindwin River, at Bhamo, Shwegu, Katha, Mandalay, Sagaing, Myinmu, Pakokku, Nyaung Oo, Seiktha, Hinthada and Zalun of  Ayeyarwady River, at Myitnge of the Dokhtawady River, at Toungoo and Madauk of Sittoung River, at Bago of Bago River, at Hpaan of the Thanlwin River, and at Ngathaingchaung and Pathein of Ngawun River, and at Maubin of Toe River, and at Kyauktaw of Kalaten River, at Myauk U of Lay Myo River and at Bilin of Bilin River, and two times each at Shwegyin of Shwegyin River, at Myawady of Thaungyin River and at Thabaung of Ngawun River respectively.

          During the Months of September and October (Late Monsoon Period), the water levels may exceed their respective town danger levels are one time each at Hinthada and Zalun of the Ayeyarwady River, at Myitnge of the Dokhtawady River, at Toungoo and Madauk of Sittoung River, at Shwegyin of Shwegyin River, at Hpaan of the Thanlwin River, at Myawady of the Thaungyin River, at Ngathaingchaung and Thaboung of Ngawun River and at Maubin of Toe River.
