SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayin State. Rain or thundershowers has been isolated in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State, scattered in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State, 2°C above May average temperature in Mon State and 2°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Southern Shan States, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, 5°C below May average temperatures in Northern Shan State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.5°C in Kawkareik, 40.0°C in Taungdwingyi, 39.6°C in Bago, 39.5°C in Minbu, 39.4°C in Myawaddy, 39.1°C in Dawei, 39.0°C in Nyaunglaybin, 38.8°C each in Tada U(Avia-Met) and Tharrawady and 38.6°C each in Shwekyin and Chauk on 2-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.00 inches in Hkamti, 1.65 inches in Machanbaw, 1.61 inches in Sittwe, 1.38 inch in Mingin, 1.15 inches inTatkon, 1.12 inches in Mongping, 1.10 inches in Maubin, 1.06 inches in Mongyang, 0.96 inch in Kyaukpyu and 0.94 inch in Kanbalu.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Magway Regions and isolated in the remaining Region and States. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
