SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Rakhine State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region. Day temperatures were 2°C above May average temperature in Chin State, 2°C below May average temperatures in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan State and 3°C below May average temperature in Southern Shan State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 41.8°C in Chauk, 40.3°C in Myinmu, 39.0°C each in Aunglan and Sinbyugyun,  38.5°C in Myingyan, 38.2°C in Magway, 38.0°C each in Nyaunglaybin, Pakokku and Shwebo and 37.8°C in  Kalewa on 14-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.51 inches in Myanaung, 3.39 inches in Hainggyigyun, 2.01 inches in Kyeikkhame, 1.93 inches in Ye, 1.57 inches each in Wettigan(Laydatpyin) and Ngathaichaung, 1.54 inches in Heho, 1.50 inches in Ngapudaw, 1.42 inches each in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri) and Mawlamyine  and 1.26 inches in Nyaung Shwe.

BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Lower Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 30-35 mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and 4-7 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest monsoon into the Deltaic areas.
