SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been farily widespread in Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. Day temperatures were 2°C below May average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, (Northern and Southern) Shan States, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Eastern Shan State and 8°C below May average temperature in Rakhine State. The significant day temperatures were 35.0°C each in Nyaunglaybin and Hinthada, 34.0°C in Wettigan(Laydatpyin), 33.0°C in Kalewa, 32.2°C in Yamethin, 32.1°C in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri) and 32.0°C each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), Kyaukse(Lunkyaw) and Kawkareik on 27-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.72 inches in Sittwe, 4.33 inches in Coco Island, 3.86 inches in Ye, 3.50 inches in Nyaungdon, 3.11 inches in Yangon(Kaba-Aye), 3.03 inches in Hakha, 2.99 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 2.87 inches in Ngathaichaung and 2.56 inches each in Hmawbi(Agro-Met), Okkan and Labutta.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine States. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Frequently squalls with very rough seas will be experience in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 13-15 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough to very rough sea will be experience in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-13 feet in elsewhere in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
