SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Magway Regions and Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.44 inches in Sittwe, 2.28 inches in Putao, 2.17 inches in Paung Byin, 1.77 inches each in Dawei and Mohnyin, 1.57 inches in Pyay, 1.12 inches in Kangyidaunt, 0.83 inch in Hakha, 0.75 inch in Hinthada, 0.68 inch in Danubyu and 0.67 inch in Bago.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Special Weather: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs M.S.T today, the land depression over Jharkhand, India has moved West-Northwestwards and has downgraded into a well marked low pressure area and lies over North Jharkhand and adjoining South Bihar, India. It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and weaken gradually.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Mon, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States.
