SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, scattered in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.26 inches in Dawei, 3.78 inches in Phyarpon, 2.87 inches in Kungyangon, 2.83 inches in Taunggu(Avia-Met), 2.80 inches in Wettigan(Laydatpyin), 2.67 inches each in Pyinmana(Walgyi) and Paung, 2.29 inches in Pyinoolwin, 2.20 inches in Ye, 2.16 inches in Pyinmana and 2.09 inches in Laiway.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Seas will be moderate off and along Rakhine Coasts. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 19thJuly 2025:        One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and fairly widespread in Mandalay Region.
