SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Southern Shan and Kayin States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway and Yangon Regions, Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kalay (4.06)inches, Tamu (3.39)inches, Matupi (2.60)inches, Pathein (2.24)inches, Hkamti (2.16)inches, Tharrawady (1.93)inches, Naypyitaw(Zabutiri) (1.85)inches, Hakha (1.66)inches, Tiddim (1.61)inches, Kawthaung (1.58)inches, Mindat and Homalin (1.53)inches each, Kalewa and Khayan (1.50)inches each, Pyinmana (1.46)inches, Mingin (1.42)inches and Monyin (1.38)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th JUNE, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Southern Shan, Kayah and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.  Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 - 9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (3 - 6) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Coastal areas.
