BAYINFERENCE:  According to the observations at 15:30 hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal (North Andhra Pradesh - South Odisha) coasts, India still persists. It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify into a depression during next 12 hours and cross South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts on 19-8-2025. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and moderate to strong over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah, Northern Shan  States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, (Northern and Southern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
