BAYINFERENCE:  According to the observations at 05:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal (North Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha) coasts, India has moved Northwestwards slowly. It is centered at about 455 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), 55 Nautical miles Northeast of Kalingapatnam and 20 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Gopalpur. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and moderate to strong over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 19th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah, Northern Shan  States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Upper Sagaing,  Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
