SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah, Eastern Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Magway, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.76 inches in Shwebo, 3.60 inches in Kyeiklat, 3.39 inches in Yeu, 2.13 inches in Pyinoolwin(Zeepingyi), 2.05 inches in Thaton, 1.85 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 1.72 inches in Thabaung, 1.54 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 1.50 inches each in Chaungsone and Naungcho and 1.46 inches in Ywangan.

BAYINFERENCE:  According to the observations at 09:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal (North Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha) coasts, India, has moved north-northwestwards and crossed South Odisha coast near Gopalpur as a Land Depression. It is likely to move northwestwards and continue to cross South Odisha and South Chhattisgarh and weaken gradually. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region and Chin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern) Shan  States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing Regions and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Mon  States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay,  Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State.
