SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Chin State, scattered in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.60 inches in Putao, 2.28 inches in Kyeikkhame, 1.85 inches in Myitkyina, 1.77 inches in Machanbaw, 1.50 inches each in Mogaung and Paing Kyone, 1.34 inches in Belin, 1.30 inches in Bago, 1.26 inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 1.22 inches in Theinzayet and 1.18 inches in Myaungmya.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Special Features: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Depression over the South China Sea still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into a Tropical Storm during next 24 hrs and then cross to Eastern Vietnam Coast around 30-8-2025.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Magway,Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
