9-1-2026: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 835 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 115 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 340 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna during next 18 hours.Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kachin, Rakhine States, scattered in Yangon Region, fairly widespread  in Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Mon, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Bago, Magway Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.28 inches in Thazi, 3.35 inches in Gyobingauk, 2.91 inches in Tatkon, 2.87 inches in Pyay, 2.84 inches in Pyawbwe, 2.56 inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 2.52 inches each in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw) and Monghpyak, 2.42 inches in Kalaw, 2.20 inches in Pyinmana and 2.17 inches in Taunggu(Avia-Met).

BAY INFERENCE:  Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the whole country. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and  a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th October 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Yangon Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Shan State.
