26-11-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “SENYAR” over the Strait of Malacca and adjoining Northeast Indonesia has moved West-Southwestwards and start to cross coastal areas of Indonesia. It is centered at about 305Nautical miles South of Kawthaung (Myanmar), 155 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Penang(Malaysia), 45 Nautical miles East of Kuta Makmur(Indonesia) and  395 Nautical miles Southeast of Car Nicobar (India). According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Southeast Sri Lanka still persists. It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and further intensify into a depression during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay, partly cloudy over the Central Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, Eastern Shan, Chin and Kayah States, rain have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Upper Sagaing Region, scattered in (Northern and Southern)Shan and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi  Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Mawlamyine (13.70)inches, Chaungsone (11.89)inches, Mudon (11.69) inches, Yay (9.25)inches, Kyeikmayaw (7.72) inches, Kyeikkhame (6.22)inches, Paung (4.53)inches, Kyeikdon (4.42)inches, Kawthaung(4.29)inches, Lubutta (4.21)inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi (4.04)inches, Payathonsu (3.30) inches and  Myeik (3.07)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and generally weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th JUNE, 2018: Rain will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago Region, Kachin and Rakhine States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough sea are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9 - 12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6 - 8) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
