SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been generally fair in Bago Region and Kayah, Chin States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 2°C below January average temperatures in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kayah, Chin, Rakhine, (Northern and Easthern) Shan States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were -0.6°C in Hakha, 2.7°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 3.3°C in Heho, 3.4°C in Loilin, 4.0°C in Tiddim, 4.6°C in Putao, 5.0°C in Mongyang, 5.4°C in Pinlaung, 5.5°C in Hsipaw and 6.6°C in Naungcho.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 13:00 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has further intensified into Depreassion almost stationary. It is centered at about 650 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Coco- Island(Myanmar), 435 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and 615 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay, partly cloudy over the Eastcentral Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th January 2026: Weather will be generally fair in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Region and Chin State and partly cloud in the remaining Regions and States. STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
