BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 855 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 270 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards, weaken into a Depression and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna. Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 10th January 2026: Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Yango, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Chin, Southern Shan States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Shan States.
