It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean on 18-2-2026. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 2°C below February average temperature in Chin State and 2°C above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions, 3°C to 4°C above February average temperatures in Kayin, Mon, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 1.5°C in Hakha, 4.0°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 4.5°C in Heho, 4.8°C in Loilin, 5.8°C in Tiddim, 6.0°C in Mongyang, 7.0°C in Putao, 7.2°C in Pinlaung, 9.2°C in Lashio and 9.8°C in Mohnyin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th February 2026: Isolated light rain are likely in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 60%. Weather will be generally fair weather in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-5 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in  Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Shan State.
