BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 15:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area has formed over the East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining South Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean on 18-2-2026. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th February 2026: Isolated light rain are likely in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 60%. Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-5 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
