SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain have been isolated in Taninthayi Region. Weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were  3°C to 4°C below February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah, Southern Shan States and 2°C below February average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 3.3°C each in Hakha and Heho, 3.4°C in Loilin, 3.7°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 4.5°C in Mongyang, 5.3°C in Pinlaung, 6.2°C in Lashio, 6.8°C in Tiddim, 7.5°C in Hsipaw, 8.0°C in Putao and 8.4°C in Nyaung Shwe. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded was 0.32 inch in Myeik.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure over the East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining South Bay of Bengal has moved west–northwestwards and reached over the East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean on 18-2-2026. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th February 2026: Isolated light rain are likely in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 60%. Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayah States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-5 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain in Yangon, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States.
