BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure over the East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean on 18-2-2026. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 18th February 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered are likely in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayah States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-5 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain in Yangon, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States.
