SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State and isolated in Kayah, Mon, Southern Shan States. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Bago, Magway Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 2°C below February average temperature in Chin State and 2°C above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Mon State, 3°C above February average temperature in Northern Shan State, 5°C above February average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 3.4°C in Hakha, 7.0°C in Loilin, 7.1°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 7.5°C in Tiddim, 9.0°C in Heho, 9.8°C in Mingin, 10.2°C in Lashio, 10.5°C in Mongyang and 11.0°C each in Putao and Machanbaw. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.50 inch in Mongpan, 0.24 inch in Dawei, 0.12 inch each in Hsipaw and Mongton, 0.10 inch in Mawkmai and 0.08 inch in Kawthaung.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and generally fair elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th February 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region, isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Bago, Magway Regions and Rakhine State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Taninthayi Region. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State.
