SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in (Southern and Eastern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and isolated in Mandalay Region and Kayah State. Weather has been generally fair in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C above March average temperatures in Mandalay Region and Kachin State and 2°C above March average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Northern Shan States and 2°C below March average temperature in Kayah State, 4°C below March average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 41.8°C in Chauk, 41.0°C each in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw) and Minbu, 40.8°C in Sinbyugyun, 40.4°C in Myinmu, 40.2°C in Magway, 40.0°C each in Myingyan, Thazi(Hlaingtat) and Tada U(Avia-Met) and 39.9°C in Aunglan on 10-3-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.02 inches in Pinlaung, 0.79 inch in Kengtung, 0.68 inch in Mongping, 0.24 inch each in Pyinmana and Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 0.17 inch in Tachileik, 0.16 inch in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), Kalaw, Monghsat and Mongton and 0.12 inch each in Taunggyi and Heho.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea, a few cloud over the North Bay and South Bay of Bengal and generally fair elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th March 2026: Weather will be partly cloudy in Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. Scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Kayah, (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region and Kayah, Kayin, Southern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-5 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 12th March 2026: Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 80%.

FORECAST FOR YANGON AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 12th March 2026:     Partly cloudy and likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers.  Degree of certainty is 60%.
