SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State, scattered in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Northern Shan States and isolated in Yangon, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above March average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State, 2°C below March average temperature in Northern Shan State and 3°C to 4°C below March average temperatures in Kayah, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.3°C in Minbu, 39.3°C in Chauk, 39.0°C in Magway, 38.8°C each in Aunglan and Kawkareik, 38.5°C in Myingyan, 38.4°C in Ngathaichaung, 38.2°C in Nyaung Oo and 38.0°C each in Pyay, Pakokku, Taungdwingyi and Sinbyugyun on 12-3-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.44 inches in Mongping, 1.42 inches in Kalewa, 1.17 inches in Mongkung, 1.02 inches in Loilin, 0.76 inch in Tachileik, 0.70 inch in Mongpan, 0.69 inch in Homein, 0.67 inch in Gangaw, 0.59 inch in Monghsat and 0.55 inch in Kalay.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the Central Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th March 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Southern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-5 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
