SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Northern Shan States and isolated in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Chin, Eastern Shan States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C below March average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region, 3°C to 4°C below March average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah, (Northern and Southern)Shan States, 5°C below March average temperature in Kachin State and 10°C below March average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 39.8°C in Minbu, 38.4°C in Kawkareik, 38.3°C in Ngathaichaung, 38.2°C in Taunggu(Avia-Met), 38.0°C each in Zaungtu and Taungdwingyi, 37.7°C in Aunglan, 37.6°C in Tada U(Avia-Met) and 37.5°C each in Magway, Dawei and Belin on 13-3-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.26 inches in Putao, 0.98 inch in Machanbaw, 0.91 inch in Namsan(Southern Shan), 0.79 inch in Phyu, 0.67 inch in Pinlaung, 0.64 inch in Pinglong, 0.63 inch in Myitkyina, 0.59 inch in Muse and 0.51 inch each in Yangon(Botahtaung) and Loilin.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and Central Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th March 2026: Weather will be partly cloudy in Magway Region and Rakhine State. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, scattered in Chin, Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-5 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
