SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago Regions. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthyai Regions and Chin State and isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Rakhine, Eastern Shan States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C below March average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States, 3°C to 4°C below March average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan States and 7°C below March average temperature in Kachin State and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 39.8°C in Chauk, 39.0°C in Minbu, 38.9°C each in Aunglan and Kawkareik, 38.0°C each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), Magway and Theinzayet, 37.8°C in Bago and  37.6°C each in Zaung Tu and Myawaddy on 16-3-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.19 inches in Myeik, 0.59 inch in Putao, 0.51 inch in Machanbaw, 0.36 inch in Mongyawng, 0.24 inch in Myitkyina, 0.20 inch in Mogaung, 0.16 inch each in Mohnyin and Mongping, 0.12 inch each in Homalin and Monghsat.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and central Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th March 2026:  Weather will be  partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Kachin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Northern Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Kachin, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin States.
