SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Kachin State and isolated in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above March average temperatures in Kayin, Mon States and 4°C below March average temperature in Kachin State and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.4°C in Chauk, 40.0°C in Myinmu, 39.9°C in Magway, 39.5°C in Sinbyugyun, 39.4°C each in Thazi(Hlaingtat) and Bago and 39.0°C each in Meiktila, Minbu, Taungdwingyi and Hpa-an(Agro-Met) on 18-3-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.35 inch in Mohnyin, 0.12 inch in Machanbaw, 0.08 inch each in Homalin, Dawei and Putao  and 0.04 inch in Mogaung.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea, partly cloudy over the North Bay, Eastcentral Bay and Southeast Bay of Bengal and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th March 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and isolated in Taninthayi Region and Chin, Northern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Shan States.
