SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, scattered in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Kayah, Chin, Southern Shan States and isolated in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above March average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State and 2°C below March average temperature in Kayah State and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.2°C in Chauk, 39.4°C in Aunglan, 39.0°C each in Zaung Tu, Minbu, Myinmu and Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 38.9°C in Kawkareik, 38.8°C in Hpa-an and 38.5°C each in Taungdwingyi and Sinbyugyun on 20-3-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.79 inch in Mohnyin, 0.71 inch in Mingin, 0.51 inch in Kyaukse, 0.48 inch in Laiway, 0.39 inch in Kalay, 0.35 inch each in Kalewa and Loikaw, 0.32 inch in Hakha and 0.24 inch in Homalin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd March 2026: Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions. Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region.  Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States.
