SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, (Northern and Southern) Shan States, scattered in Magway Region and isolated in Bago Region and Rakhine State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above March average temperature in Taninthayi Region and 2°C below March average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Kayah States, 3°C to 4°C below March average temperatures in Sagaing Region and Chin, Northern Shan States and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 39.8°C in Minbu, 39.6°C in Chauk, 39.4°C in Zaung Tu, 39.0°C in Kawkareik, 38.9°C in Tharrawady, 38.8°C each in Taunggu, Bago and Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 38.7°C in Aunglan and 38.5°C each in Gyobingauk and Zalun on 21-3-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.71 inch in Patheingyi and Gangaw, 0.59 inch in Lashio, 0.53 inch in Kalaw, 0.51 inch each in Wettigan(Laydatbyin) and Hakha, 0.47 inch each in Mogoke, Paungbyin, Pinlaung and Heho and 0.43 inch in Yamethin.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd March 2026: Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Chin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Southern Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
