SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin State and isolated in Mandalay Region. Weather has been generally fair weather in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C above March average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State, 2°C above March average temperatures in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Mon, Shan States and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 41.5°C in Minbu, 41.0°C in Sinbyugyun, 40.9°C in Myinmu, 40.7°C in Myingyan, 40.5°C in Magway, 40.4°C each in Bago and Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 40.3°C in Mandalay, 40.2°C in Chauk and 40.1°C each in Zaung Tu and Shwekyin on 28-3-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.54 inches in Mogaung, 1.37 inches in Muse, 0.59 inch in Putao, 0.47 inch in Machanbaw, 0.32 inch in Mogoke, 0.28 inch in Hkamti, 0.24 inch in Homalin, 0.20 inch in Lashio and 0.16 inch in Tiddim.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th March 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, scattered in Chin, Northern Shan States and isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be generally fair weather in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Kachin, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-5 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
