SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Naypyitaw and Chin, (Northern and Southern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin State, scattered in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Eastern Shan State and isolated in Bago Region and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above April average temperature in Rakhine State and 2°C below April average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Northern Shan States, 4°C below April average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region and 5°C below April average temperatures in Kachin State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 41.5°C in Minbu, 40.8°C in Kawkareik, 40.2°C in Chauk, 40.0°C each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Zalun, 39.9°C in Aunglan, 39.5°C each in Taunggu, Taungdwingyi and Hinthada and 39.2°C in Magway on 7-4-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.55 inches in Ywangan, 1.18 inches in Naypyitaw (Ottarathiri), 1.02 inches in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), 0.78 inch each in Ela and Taunggyi, 0.74 inch each in Homalin and Namsam(Southern Shan), 0.70 inch each in Tatkon, Meiktila, Hsipaw and Loilin, 0.67 inch each in Thabeikkyin and Magway and 0.59 inch in Mohnyin.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th April 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in and Kachin, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
