SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been scattered in Eastern Shan State, isolated in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Southern Shan States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above April average temperatures in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 44.9°C in Chauk, 42.5°C  in Myinmu, 42.3°C in Myingyan, 42.0°C each in Tada U(Aviation Met), Minbu and Pakokku, 41.8°C in Magway, 41.2°C each in Sinbyugyun and Sagaing and 41.0°C each in Mandalay, Nyaung Oo, Kyaukse(Lunkyaw) and Monywa on 16-4-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.12 inch in Taunggyi, 0.10 inch in Mongton, 0.08 inch in Tachileik and 0.04 inch each in Loikaw and Namsan(Southern Shan).

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Central Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th April 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be generally fair in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin,  Shan States.
