SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been scattered in Eastern Shan State and isolated in Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, (Northern & Southern)Shan States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above April average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State, 2°C above April average temperatures in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin States and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 43.6°C in Chauk, 43.0°C in Myinmu, 42.0°C in Nyaung Oo, 41.8°C each in Myingyan, Kyaukse(Lunkyaw) and Tada U(Aviation Met), 41.7°C in Magway, 41.6°C in Aunglan and 41.5°C each in Minbu and Taungdwingyi on 17-4-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.55 inch in Gyobingauk and 0.04 inch each in Pyinoolwin, Naungcho, Kengtung and Mongyang.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th April 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah, (Northern & Southern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight increase of day temperatures in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions.
