SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been scattered in Kachin, Kayin States and isolated in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, Northern Shan States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above April average temperatures in Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State and 3°C below April average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 43.8°C in Myinmu, 43.7°C in Chauk, 43.4°C in Minbu, 43.2°C in Myingyan, 43.0°C in Magway, 42.0°C each in Mandalay, Pakokku, Taungdwingyi and Gangaw and 41.8°C in Nyaung Oo on 20-4-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.30 inches in Putao, 0.71 inch in Machanbaw, 0.16 inch in Kanbalu and 0.08 inch in Hkamti.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd April 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kachin State and isolated in Mandalay, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
