SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours,  weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region. Rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan States, fairly widespread in Chin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 6°C above May average temperature in Taninthayi Region, 3°C above May average temperature in Kayin State, 2°C above May average temperature in Mon State and 2°C below May average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region,  3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway Regions, 5°C below May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were  40.8°C each in Dawei and Kawkareik, 39.7°C in Kawthaung, 39.5°C in Nyaunglaybin,  39.4°C in Myawaddy, 39.3°C in Tharrawady, 39.0°C each in Minbu and Myeik and 38.6°C in Bago on 1-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.26 inches in Myeik, 1.06 inches in Myitkyina, 0.87 inch in Sittwe, 0.82 inch in Putao, 0.67 inch in Kanbalu, 0.55 inch in Thazi(Hlaingtat), 0.43 inch in Hkamti, 0.40 inch in Pindaya, 0.39 inch in Hpa-an and 0.35 inch in Lashio.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Chin, Southern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Rakhine State and isolated in the remaining Region and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States.
