27-11-2025:According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “SENYAR” crossed in the interior of Indonesia has recurved and moved South-Southeast and now lies again over Northeast of Indonesia and adjoining the Strait of Malacca. It is centered at about 360 Nautical miles South of Kawthaung (Myanmar), 140 Nautical miles Southwest of Penang(Malaysia), 50 Nautical miles Southeast of Kuta Makmur(Indonesia) and  460 Nautical miles Southeast of Car Nicobar (India). According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Southeast Sri Lanka has further intensified into a Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Sri Lanka coast.  It is centered at about 800 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 180 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Tricomalee(Srilanka), 395 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry(India). Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy and over the over the Andaman Sea and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Bago Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Northern Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kyeikkhame (8.58)inches, Putao (7.28)inches, Yay (6.18)inches, Chaungsone (5.47) inches, Mudon (5.12)inches, Belin (4.21)inches, Mogaung (4.02)inches, Manchanbaw (3.58)inches, Shwegone (3.56)inches, Kawthaung (3.35)inches, Bhamo (3.32)inches, Kyeikmayaw (3.23)inches, Singu (3.20)inches and Kya-In-Seikkyi (3.19)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Kachin, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5 -8) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Kayin and Mon States.
