SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, scattered in Magway and Bago Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Magway and Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Thaton (3.47)inches, Kawthaung (3.11)inches, Kalay (3.03)inches, Monyin (2.44)inches, Kunlong and Paung byin (2.13) inches, Launglon (1.97)inches, Phyu (1.85)inches, Madauk and Kamamaung (1.77)inches each, Hlaingbwe (1.73) inches, Dawei (1.69)inches, Mindat (1.61)inches, Thayat and Belin (1.57)inches each and Myeik (1.49)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region, (Northern and Southern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States.
