SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Ragions, Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Kayin State and isolated heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Belin (4.69)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (4.35)inches, Kataingti (3.66)inches, Taungkok (3.58)inches, Thandwe (2.80)inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi (2.76)inches, Hpapun (2.51) inches, Puato (2.40)inches, Bhamo (2.16)inches, Paing Kyone (2.13)inches, Shwegwun and Paung (2.08) inches each and Hpa-an (1.97)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in (Northern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9 - 14) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Lower Myanmar areas.
