28-11-2025:According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast has moved North- Northwestwards and is crossing near Trincomalee(Srilanka). It is centered at about 805 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 225 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry (India). It is likely continue to move North-Northwestwards and across eastern parts of Sri Lanka Coast and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal and reach over the North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India.  Weather is a generally fair over the North Bay, partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Bago Region and isolated heavy falls in Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Dawei (4.56)inches, Putao (4.01)inches, Yay (3.59)inches, Nyaunglaybin (3.55) inches, Zaung Tu (3.07)inches, Kyaukpyu (3.00)inches, Taungkok (2.95)inches, Gyobingauk (2.44)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (2.34)inches, Machanbaw (2.28)inches, Tamu and Myaungmya (2.24)inches each, Saw (2.13)inches, Okpho (2.05)inches and Thandwe (2.04)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression. It is crossing to Coastal Odisha near Bhubaneswar (India). Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in (Northen and Southern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9 - 12) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
