SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Ayeyarwady Region, Eastern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and isolated heavy falls in Kachin and Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Tamanthi (4.92)inches, Hkamti (3.70)inches, Putao (3.59) inches, Kyauktaw (3.19)inches, Yay (2.99)inches, Kawkareik (2.48)inches, Shwegwin (1.88)inches, Chaungsone (1.85)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (1.83)inches and Hlaingbwe (1.77)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd AUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Ayeyarwady Region, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
