SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Bago Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Kayin and Mon States.The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Thandwe (7.99) inches, Okpho (5.45)inches, Thaton (3.98)inches, Sittwe (3.87)inches, Phyu (3.54)inches, Gyobingauk (3.31) inches, Paing Kyone (3.15)inches, Kyaukpyu (3.11)inches, Kyaukpyu (3.11)inches, Ann (2.95)inches, Mindat (2.84)inches, Taunggu (2.63)inches, Hpa-an (2.48)inches and Gwa (2.40)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Odisha Coast and near West Bengal has crossed into North Odisha coast (India). Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th AUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Eastern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9)feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Eastern Shan State.
