SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw and Kayin State and isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kachin and Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Gwa (7.09)inches, Paing Kyone (6.87) inches, Launglon (5.24)inches, Hlaingbwe (4.80)inches, Kawkareik (4.13)inches, Shwegone (3.56)inches, Bhamo (3.38)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (3.27)inches, Naypyitaw (Zayarthiri) (2.56)inches, Kamamaung (2.51) inches and Dawei (2.40)inches.  

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st SEPTEMBER, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-10)feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 1st SEPTEMBER, 2018: One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).
