SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Magway Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Hainggyigyun (5.79)inches, Thaton (5.75)inches, Yay (4.25)inches, Kawkareik (3.43)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (3.39)inches, Kyeikkhame (3.27)inches, Phyarpon and Paung (3.20)inches each, Putao (3.11)inches, Natogyi (3.00)inches, Gwa and Kawthaung (2.99)inches each, Shwegone (2.95)inches, Labutta (2.83)inches, Ngazun (2.81)inches, Dawei and Launglon (2.60)inches each and Kamamaung (2.36)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong to vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th September, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (5.-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts.
