SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Magway Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kyemone (3.23)inches, Sagaing (3.07)inches, Myaungmya (2.68) inches, Okkan and Yangon (North Dagon) (2.13)inches each, Monywa (2.09)inches, Nyaung Oo and Labutta (1.77)inches each, Nyaungdon (1.75)inches, Mogoke and Kungyangon (1.73)inches each, Homalin (1.69)inches, Kalewa and Pyawbwe (1.65)inches each, Myingyan (1.61)inches, Hakha (1.54)inches and Thabeikkyin (1.50) inches.
BAY INFERENCE According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over the East Central Bay has moved over the West Central Bay of Bengal and has intensified into Deep depression. It is centered at about (180)miles South -Southeast of Puri and about (190) miles Southeast of Gopalpur (India). It is forecast to move West- Northwestwards and may further intensify into a Cyclonic storm during next (12) hours. Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and strong over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st September, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Rakhine States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.Wave height will be about (9 - 12) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (4-7)feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
