17-11-2025:  According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal(off Sri Lanka Coast) has reached over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast. It is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards during the next 24 hours.. Weather a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Kayin and Mon States, isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kawkareik (1.85)inches, Yay (0.82)inch, Myeik (0.47)inch and Kawthaung (0.39)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st October, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago and Yangon Region, Kayah State, scattered in Ayeyaewady Region, (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and isolated in Naypyitaw with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be  slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9)feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (2 -5)feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
