17-11-2025:  According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast still persists. It is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards during the next 24 hours. Weather a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Kachin State, scattered in Eastern Shan State and widespread in Taninthayi Region and  Southern Shan State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below November average temperature in Northern Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) above November average temperatures in (Southern and Eastern) Shan and Mon States and (2°C) above November average temperatures in Mandalay and Bago Regions, Kayah and Kayin States and about November average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (3°C) in Hakha, (7°C) each in Thipaw and Pyinoolwin and (8°C) in Mogoke. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Dawei (0.67)inch, Myeik (0.63)inch, Pinlaung and Minesat (0.32)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (10:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm "Gaja" has crossed Tamilnadu coast between Nagapattinam and Vedaranniyiam weakened  into a Cyclonic Storm "Gaja". It is forecast to move Westwards and weaken gradually. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and East central Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th November, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State, isolated in (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be generally fair in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Rakhine State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (4-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.    

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Shan, Chin and Kayah States.
