16-11-2025:  According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal(off Sri Lanka Coast) still persists. It is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards during the next 24 hours. Weather a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region, (Northern and Southern) Shan State, scattered in Mandalay Region, isolated in Naypyitaw, Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above December average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin State, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Magway and Bago Regions, Kachin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Mon States, (5°C) to (6°C) above December average temperatures in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Southern Shan State and about December average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (7°C) in Putao, (8°C) in Hakha and (10°C) each in Nyaung Shwe, Tiddim and Tongzan. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kengtung (0.59)inch, Loilin (0.39)inch, Namsam and Kawthaung (0.19)inch each, Sittwe (0.15)inch, Heho and Pyinoolwin (0.12)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal adjoining over the Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about (370) miles Southeast of Chennai (India), about (480) miles South-Southeast of Machilipatnam and about (240) miles East-Northeast of Triconmalee (Sri Lanka). Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th December, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Shan State, scattered in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin and Chin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States.
