16-11-2025:  According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal(off Sri Lanka Coast) still persists. It is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards during the next 24 hours. Weather a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, light rain has been isolated in Taninthayi Region, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below January average temperatures in Yangon Region, Northern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-2°C) in Hakha, (1°C) in Heho and (4°C) each in Thipaw, Namsam, Pinlaung, Loilin, Tiddim and Ramthlo.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm (Pabuk) over the Gulf of Thiland and has crossed Nakhon Si Thammarat and Pak Phanang (Thailand). It is forecast to move Northwestwards and downgrade to be tropical depression and reach to Andaman Sea.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th January, 2019: Rain will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Shan and Kayah States and isolated in Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional Squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-6) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayha, Kayin and Mon States.
