SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below January average temperatures in Upper Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin and Kayah States, (3°C) to (4°C) below January average temperatures in Yangon Region, Northern Shan and Rakhine States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-3°C) in Hakha, (1°C) each in Heho and Ramthlo, (2°C) in Thipaw, (3°C) each in Putao, Namsam and Loilin, (4°C) each in Lashio, Kyaukmae, Mongyang, Tiddim, Mogoke and Thandwe.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th January, 2019: Likelihood of rain will be isolated in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State.Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, (Northern & Southern)Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3-5) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Northern Shan States.
