SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States, isolated heavy falls in Chin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Yay (6.77)inches, Kyeikkame (4.65)inches, Manaung (4.45)inches, Thandwe (4.41)inches, Maungdaw (3.27)inches, Paletwa (3.19)inches, Mawlamyine (3.15)inches, Sittwe and Kyaukphyu (2.95)inches each and Myauk U (2.87)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal still persists. It may further intensify into a depression during the next (24) hours. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th June, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Mon States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Regions, Kayah and Kayin States with regionally heavy falls in Chin and Rakhine States and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainly is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 - 12) feet in Deltaic, Galf of Mottama and Rakhine Coast and (6 - 10) feet in Taninthayi Coast.
