9-1-2026: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 835 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 115 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 340 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna during next 18 hours.Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th June, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, Kayah State, widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Bago Region. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 - 10) feet in Deltaic and Rakhine Coasts and (4 - 6) feet in Gulf of Mottama and Mon - Taninthayi Coasts.
